LaBaby eyes are blue and not very realistic. Most people prefer to have the eyes replaced with something of higher quality. Special Edition babies have blue as well, although theirs is a more realistic eye and some people like the look of them. New eyes definitely add realism to the reborn doll. Working thru the neck hole, I'll cut open the sealed vinyl and pop the original eye out. I'll then glue a different eye in place, sealing with silicone to ensure it stays put.
If the baby I am making has sleeping eyes, I will root the lashes. I'll go thru the neck and seal them in place from the inside. If the baby is awake, the lashes will be placed in their position and then I'll gloss the eye, giving it a realistic wet look and this gloss will automatically seal the lashes in place. No glue residue to worry about!
For giving a baby "drowsy" eyes, I start by carving the lids open bit by bit until they have the shape I want. I also need to trim behind the eyelid so that it is flat and an eye is able to adhere to the surface. After carving out the opening, I will sand the edges until they are smooth and almost rounded. Using superglue, I adhere the eye inside the head behind the open lid. I then use silicone sealer to seal the eye in place. Once dry, the eye should not loosen or detach. Lashes are tucked under the lid and then the eye is glossed. Sometimes I'll add a bit of gloss to the bottom of the eye to give a moist look. The babies below are examples of "drowsy-eyed" babies.

Brows can be tricky. I like to either use a waterbased marker or paint for creating them. Sometimes I will hand-draw the brows using the marker and then gently blend the color, this way you can see individual strokes, but it is blended into the vinyl. Other times using paint, I'll dilute it and using a very fine tipped brush, I'll make many strokes creating a feathery brow. No matter how it's done, it looks as real as possible.
